Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture Launches Jingle Video Contest; Winner Will Drive Away in a Brand-New 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid

Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture today launched a Jingle Video Contest that will run all summer, with the Grand Prize winner driving away in a brand-new 2008 Honda Civic Hybrid.  Individuals are invited to create and submit an original 30-second video of themselves singing the retailer’s trademark jingle: “Bernie and Phyl’s, quality, comfort and price, that’s nice!”

Creativity is encouraged and participants have until August 31, 2008 to submit their video on the Bernie & Phyl’s website www.bernieandphyls.com .  A panel of judges will select 10 finalists from all the submissions. The public will then have the opportunity to vote online – from September 15, 2008 to October 8, 2008 – for their favorite video.  The Grand Prize winner, based on the video that receives the most votes, will be announced on October 13, 2008.

“We’re looking to build on our highly successful advertising campaign that has featured everyday people singing our jingle,” said Bernie Rubin, chairman and co-founder of Bernie & Phyl’s Furniture.  “It’s become part of popular culture, and we’re encouraging everyone to have some fun with it.”

The Honda Civic Hybrid, which is being awarded in conjunction with Cambridge Honda, will be on display at the Bernie & Phyl’s store in Braintree, MA, first, and then will rotate to all of Bernie & Phyl’s stores during the contest.

The contest is open to U.S. residents who are age 18 or older with a valid driver’s license and e-mail address.  The individual submitting the video must be the lead performer singing the entire jingle.  Videos must be original, unpublished, in English, and the sole property of the submitter.  For more details, view the “Frequently Asked Questions” on Bernie & Phyl’s website.
